Project Brief
Design a cover for Weekly Buzz, following a theme of my choice. Design within the boundaries of the magazine's pre-existing layout.
Solution
I chose the theme of the magazine to be a local music guide and created illustrations that went into it. The placement of the title reads like a banner, announcing the theme.
Moodboard
I originally looked at other covers that Weekly Buzz had produced in order to make my final design cohesive with the collection. Some design styles I had looked at were punching out text against an image or creating a banner-like layout.

Low-fidelity
I wanted to focus on illustrations for the cover, since it's a common theme throughout other issues. I looked at incorporating different musical instruments into the typography, in order to create a dynamic, yet cohesive design.
Mid-fidelity
After making each of my sketches, I found that my last draft fit most with Weekly Buzz's brand image. The bright colors and dynamic layout convey a sense of fun and adventure.
