Project Brief
Design a digital cover for Karen Tse's single "miss you already" on Perimeter Road Sound Recordings that will be build interest in the future and express the artist's style of music.
Solution
The artist wanted to depict a moment not a picture for their cover. To follow their vision, I used silhouettes and shadows to build a story surrounding the figure that are included on the album cover.
Moodboard
Originally I had been thinking of creating a cover with overt illustrations, like many of the research examples I had found. My moodboard included many of the colors I came across in my research. A specific element I wanted to represent in the moodboard was depth, taking advantage of the background and foreground.
High-fidelity
I decided on my final cover because the colors matched more closely the theme of the EP. The ambiguous form of the silhouettes also allow relatability for the viewer.
