Project Brief
Re-design an album in a minimalistic style based on the original cover of HYUKOH's 24: How to find true love and happiness.
Solution
I broke down the busy collage of the original album and used simple shapes to convey the same vibe. The driving melody and strong vocal lines remind the listener of music that would be played on vinyl, which is why I included the record motif.
Original Cover
The original cover is in a collage style. The illustrations follow the theme of the album- the cycle of growth from child to adult. I wanted to convey this same cycle through the white rings that make up the record illustration.
Mid-fidelity
Originally, I started with three different versions of the cover re-design. Each version represents a theme of the original, with the second proof using the band member's rising silhouettes to imply growth and the third proof playing off the original busy collage style. I chose the first proof to further develop because it is the most cohesive.
